In 2020, amidst the challenges of a world in transition, Noirin Kelly with her husband Aidan, set out on a mission to create something special, that would bring Ballisodare community together. And so Tempo Cafe was born.
Noirin, a passionate baker with a love for creating delicious, handcrafted pastries, had a dream of opening her own cafe for years. Her journey began in her own kitchen, where she perfected her recipes. After opening the cafe she gathered a team of talented people, who put their heart and creativity into every part of the Cafe.
Jason Murtagh, after years of traveling across the globe, joined Noirin’s vision to create a signature cafe’s menu. With an eye for fresh, local ingredients he is crafting delicious meals that are a celebration of flavour and quality.
A Couple of months later Hanna Marszalek joined the team and brought with her passion and a world of knowledge on everything coffee related. After a successful start, chef Daniel Cox joined the team bringing his creativity and fresh look on world cuisine so the cafe started operating 7 days a week with indoor dining on the first floor after the restrictions were lifted.
Tempo is proud of working with Geometry Coffee Roasters and coffee.ie from Galway bringing best speciality coffee experience to the table. After years of training, research and experience, at the end of 2024 “9 Bars of Tempo” was born – The very first Sligo barista school, training everyone who wants to step into the coffee world – from beginners to full businesses.
Currently Tempo Cafe is offering freshly prepared breakfast and lunch, daily baked goods and delicious coffee for sit down and take-away. Tempo shop – in store and online is always full of housemade products and gift ideas and the barista school continues to expand and offer up-to-date training.
Coffee, food and pastries – “the holy trinity” of our cafe.
